There seriously is nothing better than being a grandma and having time with these amazing small humans (as my grandson Beau would say) and having as many of these items in your home just simplifies the process and helps you to focus on what’s important — your grand baby!!
All grandmas need some place for the new grandbaby to sleep. Some of the most common ones are: Port-a-Cribs, pack-n-play or a bassinet.
When you become a grandma you forget how heavy a grand baby can be when carrying them for long periods of time – so invest in a light weight stroller.
Diapers & Wipes
It’s always a good idea to have plenty of Diapers and Wipes on hand – babies do tend to get messy —– a lot!
Speaking of messes – having an extra set of cloths for the wee one or just a onesie of an oversized T-shirt – it’s a good idea to keep some sort of small size clothing at your house too.
Whether this means frozen breast milk or formula with bottles – make sure to always have some food on hand for your baby. Once they get a bit older – you can include small packs of baby food or squeeze packs work great too.
Baby Medicine & Breathing relief
You never know if your little one will get a fever or have a reaction to something while visiting you. Another thing to keep on hand is basic medicines for your babes. Items such as baby Tylenol, Benadryl and things to help them breathe like saline drops and ball syringe.
Pacifier- Binky – Nuk
Whatever they use – make sure there is always a spare at your house!! They get lost so easily so make sure you have at least 2 at all times. This is a life saver.
Bottles & Spoons
Having a bottle that stays at grandmas is also a good idea – make sure it’s the same time the baby uses. Small spoons for their tiny mouths as they start on solids are also an important tool to have.
Bibs -They will be doing a lot of eating at your house so having bibs on hand to keep then clean is very important.
A highchair or booster seat – are also great things to have on hand as they spend time with you. There are all sorts of super cool seats that take hardly any room to store or can just be left on one of your kitchen chairs or barstools.
And the obviously don’t forget to have a variety of toys for your new grandchild to play with!
